The А-2® design workshop was established in 1988. The 22nd of June is considered to be an official birthday of the firm. A young creative team has excitedly started its independent work: in the first 3 years about 70 projects have been carried out, our customers being the Achinsk alumina group of enterprises, Vanavara oil-gas reconnoitering expedition, Kansk production sewing association, Krasnoyarsk city committee for sports, the Saving Bank of the Russian Federation and other entities and private persons.
We have gained certain experience collaborating with the institute of Biophysics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, participating in the international conference on «Complexes with a biologically closed system of life support» (1989), as well as in numerous All-Union and international competitions: Expo-92 in Seville, Spain; The Arbat Gate in Moscow; Urbanita-90 in Prague; the Czech Republic; ANGOR WAT in Angkor, Cambodia.
In 1991 our workshop became the laureate of the second award at the All-Russian Comfortable Dwelling contest. at that time the first interview with the leaders of the workshop was published in the professional press (Architecture of the USSR, #191); later there appeared some publications in Architecture and Construction of Russia magazine (#391; 591; 691; 1291; 292; 792).
Since the early nineties an active cooperation with the Krasnoyarsk State Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering started (renamed the Institute of Urban Building, Management and Regional Economy of Siberian Federal University) has established. The specialists and architects of the workshop not more than once have served as leaders and reviewers of diploma papers, members of the State Attestation Commission.
Soon after events of August, 1991 we undertook to create the first design-building holding named Koda. At the beginning of the 90s the construction of a housing unit with the floor area of more than 50,000 m2 looked like an unprecedented experiment. We were determined not only to draw but realize our project from the beginning to the end. A unique construction site was in need of constant design and management support and for that reason all the efforts of the workshop were subjected to the realization of the task needed. Having been a designer, a developer, a subcontractor and co-investor we have acquired invaluable experience and have come to understand all the aspects of an investment-construction process on a qualitatively new level.

Since 1997 we have been designing for our customers, such as Management of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Administration, the Evenk Administration, Sibiryak Construction Co., Sibagropromstroi Co., etc.
Today there are about 40 people in the workshop. We deal with housing, social, cultural objects design, engineering infrastructure objects. We develop cost-estimate documentation for construction in full volume and in all stages, carry out feasibility investment study, exercise supervision and provide consulting services. Besides working documentation, we are interested in ‘architectural life': that involves contests, exhibitions, professional contacts, activities of the Russian Architects Union
