A zoo building is a tower 100 meters high, oriented strictly to the north with terraces and like a Noah’s Ark located in water of Puerto Madero in alignment of Avenue de Mayo, Parque Colón and Parque Mujeres Argentinas.
The Zoo is connected with Reserva Ecológica via a curved pier that goes 380 meters to the sea what gives pedestrians various points to observe the building on approach. Besides the ability for pleasure boats to tie up there, the pier serves as an artery of water supply and sewerage networks connected with a shore.
Alight staircases, panoramic lifts and observation decks serve as a beacon in a nighttime, what makes the building an important reference point and welcoming landmark on approach to the city.
Every morning the building using the energy of the ebb bends to the south and opens terraces with animals towards the sun. The walls of the building are solar cell panels that uncover themselves like flower petals and follow the sun catching its energy. Solar energy supplies the building all day. Every evening the building using energy of flow become straight, walls fold to keep heat and wrap a space with animals like a nestling in warm hands.
The building is an openwork structure that is balanced with an enormous aquarium set up in an empty bunker below the sea level. Aquarium is a part of the zoo that is also connected with the elevation core.
The tower tilt angle is 23.4°, what is equal to the axial tilt of the Earth. Vertical zoo is an example of wildlife preservation by means of high technologies integrated with natural processes.
